Kuala Lumpur: A devastating incident unfolded on August 17, 2023, as a charter plane crashed onto the Kuala Lumpur Expressway in Malaysia, resulting in the loss of at least 10 lives.
The ill-fated flight had taken off from Langkawi International Airport and was en route to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, as confirmed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia. The plane was transporting a total of six passengers along with two members of the flight crew. Reports indicate that the plane collided with a car and a motorcycle on impact, each carrying a single individual. Among the victims was Johari Harun, a 54-year-old Pahang state assemblyman, who had contested as a Barisan Nasional candidate in the previous year’s general election.

Forensic teams are currently in the process of recovering the remains, which will subsequently undergo a post-mortem examination and identification process at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang, as confirmed by Selangor Police Head Hussein Omar Khan.
Furthermore, Khan revealed that an investigative team from the Ministry of Transport will be launched to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the crash, aiming to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
