Gadar 2’s Impact: Pakistan Reacts to Sunny Deol’s Bold Dialogue!
‘Aadha Pakistan khali ho jayega’: Pakistanis React to Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 Dialogue
Sunny Deol’s recent dialogue in his blockbuster ‘Gadar-2’ has surprisingly garnered support from some quarters in Pakistan. While Deol’s characters and lines in movies like Border, Gadar, and Gadar 2 have often faced criticism from Pakistanis, his recent dialogue has resonated with some of his critics. In the dialogue, Deol suggests that if given the opportunity, half of Pakistan’s population would leave the country and settle in India.
A Pakistani YouTuber, Sohaib Chaudhry, conducted a public review of Gadar-2, a film that is breaking box office records in India. Chaudhry played a clip from Gadar-2’s trailer, featuring Sunny Deol’s statement that many Pakistanis would leave for India if given the chance.
Several Pakistanis interviewed by Sohaib expressed agreement with this sentiment, attributing it to the challenging economic conditions in their country. Zaved Ali Khan, a student of Islamic studies, stated, “I believe that due to our leaders, Pakistanis have become so fed up that if they were given permission to leave Pakistan, they wouldn’t stay here for even a day.”
Another participant mentioned recent incidents where ships carrying Pakistanis sank, resulting in the loss of many lives. These incidents highlight the desperation of those seeking opportunities abroad for employment and a better life.
When asked whether Indian Muslims would migrate to Pakistan if given the choice, Zavid responded negatively, suggesting that employment opportunities and living conditions in India were preferable. He also emphasized that many young people are compelled to leave Pakistan due to lack of employment opportunities.
Both Sohaib and the interviewees shared the view that the Pakistani government should focus on addressing poverty and hunger rather than making claims about freeing Kashmir. The economic challenges in Pakistan have pushed many to seek better prospects elsewhere.
While some individuals reported receiving messages offering free visas and jobs in Dubai, they were cautioned by Sohaib about potential fraud. Despite this, the sentiment remained that leaving Pakistan for better prospects is a consideration.
The economic crisis in Pakistan, marked by slow growth, rising unemployment, and high inflation, has contributed to the sentiment of seeking opportunities abroad. Against this backdrop, Sunny Deol’s Gadar-2 has crossed Rs 400 crores at the box office since its release on August 11.
