“Caught in the Web of Terror: Shocking Details Emerge as Man’s Alleged Links with Pakistani Agency Uncovered!”
In a recent development, the Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended an individual from Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district for his alleged involvement in plotting acts of terror and anti-national activities in collaboration with Pakistan’s covert agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Law enforcement officials in Lucknow revealed this information on Thursday.
The individual in question, identified as Kaleem Ahmad, 36, hailing from Gherbukhari Naukuan in Shamli, has been charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 420 (fraud), 121-A (waging war against the country), 153-A (promoting enmity between religious groups), 295-A (committing acts to outrage religious feelings), as well as relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Reportedly, Ahmad had returned from Pakistan just five days before his arrest and had maintained regular contact with ISI handlers. His purported objective was to assemble a local team to carry out acts of terror. Further revelations suggest that ISI handlers had promised him access to firearms and ammunition to support his intended activities.
When questioned about his trip to Pakistan, the suspect claimed to have visited relatives there, though he was unable to provide specific identities or addresses. According to officials, his trip seemed to be orchestrated by ISI handlers.
A Pakistani mobile number, obtained using falsified identification, was seized from the suspect. This number was utilized for communication via WhatsApp with his ISI contacts. The operation leading to his arrest was carried out by the STF’s Meerut field unit, under the direction of ASP Brijesh Kumar Singh, acting on credible information.
A senior STF official revealed that the apprehended suspect is the third eldest among five brothers and one of his elder siblings, Tehseem Ahmad, was also allegedly involved in terrorist activities. Tehseem is said to have maintained connections with Pakistan-based terrorist Sheikh Khalid Hafiz, who goes by the aliases Dilshad and Mirza. Tehseem’s alleged plans included initiating an Islamic war to establish Sharia law within the country.
Additionally, the official stated that Tehseem Ahmad had engaged in espionage for the ISI by providing photographs of Indian Army security installations in Anoopgarh, Rajasthan.
