Typhoon Lan Hits Central Japan: 26 Injured, 237,000 Evacuated Typhoon Lan has struck central Japan, causing significant disruption and forcing thousands to evacuate. The storm’s impact has led to at least 26 reported injuries and the evacuation of over 237,000 individuals.

With wind speeds reaching up to 150 kilometers per hour, the typhoon has resulted in the cancellation of almost 900 flights, the suspension of train services, and power outages in more than 20,000 homes.

The region has also experienced road closures due to heavy rainfall and strong winds. Lan made landfall southwest of Tokyo and is now moving northward towards the Sea of Japan.
